Microfibre is a polyester fibre that is only about one-fifth the diameter of a human hair. Even though it is so thin, it can hold up to seven times its own weight in water, making it very effective for soaking up spills. But the most useful part is the way microfibre easily attracts bacteria from most surfaces with water only.
Why use microfibre for cleaning?
Microfibre is efficient at loosening, picking up and carrying away over 99% of bacteria with just water*, and without using chemicals or cleaners. After mopping, wash and reuse your mop heads based on the frequency of your cleaning routine and your household needs. To actually eliminate bacteria, be sure to use a cleaning solution mixed with water. We suggest cleaning first before you disinfect any hard surfaces.
How often do I replace microfibre mop refills?
We recommend replacing mop refills with the changing of the seasons, or about every three months to keep up with daily messes. All Vileda® microfibre mop refills are durable, machine washable and easy to change. If you prefer, you can also hand wash in warm water, and hang to dry. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners, which can break down the fibres.

What is the best way to clean my hardwood floors?
Treat hardwood floors with special care to maintain their beauty – and your investment.
• Use an indoor broom or dust mop to remove daily dust, dirt and debris. For everyday messes and easy cleanups, use the Vileda® ProMist® MAX Microfibre Spray Mop or the Vileda® Flip Mop.
• When you need a more intense clean, use the Vileda® EasyWring™ RinseClean™ Spin Mop, along with a liquid cleaner approved for use on hardwood floors.

What cleaning tools should I use for hardwood floors?
When it comes to cleaning hardwood floors, we recommend using a double-sided microfibre mop head, so you can clean smarter with less waste, which is why we love using the Vileda® ProMist® MAX Microfibre Spray Mop on all of our hardwood floors. The ProMist® MAX can be safely used on hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate, ceramic, marble or stone surfaces. The double-sided mop head lets you clean your floors fast so no mess is left behind. Like most of our microfibre mops, the mop pad is reusable and machine washable.

What ingredients can I use to make my own cleaning solutions?
If you’re looking to eliminate chemicals from your cleaning routine, we have some easy-to-implement recommendations for you.
• Pour tap water into a spray bottle, and then add a few drops of lemon essential oil or orange essential oil.
• Shake gently to combine the essential oil and water
Spray on hard surfaces such as counters, sinks, ceramic tile, stone, linoleum, marble and vinyl for quick cleanups with a refreshing scent.
Tip: All Vileda products can be used with your own homemade cleaning spray. We recommend using 2 tsps of cleaner mixed with water in the ProMist® Max spray mop bottle.
