Microfibre is a highly absorbent material that is excellent at removing tough dirt and grime. Vileda microfibre mop heads are machine-washable.
Vileda microfibre mop heads are made up of millions of tiny fibres. These ultra thin microfibres catch dirt efficiently. When used with water, all these fibres loosen and physically pick up dirt and remove over 99% of bacteria without the use of harsh cleaning chemicals. Our microfibre removes the two most common household bacteria, E. coli and Staph. Aureus, from pre-finished hardwood flooring and ceramic tile, using tap water, as tested at an independent accredited lab.
We recommend changing your mop head refill every 3 months, however this also depends on your cleaning routine/how often you mop. A simple reminder is to change your refill every season. PRO TIP: Keep an extra refill handy so you are always ready for the next mess.
Streaks are caused by a residue of a chemical that is left on the floor. Make sure you follow the instructions from the cleaner you are using so that it is not too concentrated and never use fabric softener when washing the refills.
Align the “U” shape indents with the mop base. Slide the mop frame into the mop head. Wrap elastic bands around frame to secure.

How to Use the Vileda ProMist MAX Microfibre Spray Mop
- Fill the refillable bottle with clean water or your preferred cleaning solution.
- Attach the bottle securely to the spray mop until you hear it click into place.
- Press the trigger on the handle to release a fine mist onto the floor.
- Mop using the microfibre pad, flipping the head to use both sides for extended cleaning.
- Rinse the pad as needed during cleaning and allow it to dry after use.
How to Replace the Mop Pad
- Peel off the used microfibre pad from the mop base — it’s attached with durable Velcro-style strips.
- Align and press a new Vileda ProMist MAX refill pad onto the mop head.
- Ensure both sides of the pad are securely fastened before cleaning.
- Machine-wash the old pad if it’s still in good condition and reuse it up to 100 times.
Care & Maintenance Tips for Best Results
- Machine wash the microfibre pad in warm water (up to 60 °C) after heavy use.
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach, as these reduce absorbency.
- Air dry completely before reattaching or storing.
- Empty and rinse the refillable bottle after each use to prevent residue buildup.
- Store upright in a cool, dry area to protect the spray nozzle and microfibre strands.
